Mardi Himal offers a diverse range of flora and fauna on its trails. With a mesmerizing landscape filled with a view of the rhododendron forest, mountain ranges and valleys, the journey to the top is adventurous and heartwarming. Mardi Himal, a mountain peak located in the Annapurna region of Nepal has been quite famous for its small treks. Being about 4500 meter above sea level and at an altitude of 5587 meter, it has been entitled as a “trekking peak” by the Nepalese Government.

Mardi Himal Trek is one of the best short treks available in Nepal and has been popular since a decade. It can literally be regarded as a hidden gem among trekkers. This short trek suitable for first timers as well as for experienced trekkers. With the completion of a decade of officially being opened as Mardi Nepal Trek, the popularity of the trek has gradually increased. The Mardi Himal trek assists your trails with authentic teahouses, hospitable people and panoramic views of Annapurna Range, Mt. Machhapuchhre. The lodges and teahouses for the trekkers are often overloaded with accommodation. Even though trekking in this region is ongoing for a decade you get to walk through the unblemished natural resources. Lodges around the road are accommodated with all the necessary requirements. The trekking distance to be covered is around 57km. As the trek begins from Kande which is about 27 kilometers from Pokhara.

 The trekking trails leads to Australian Camp – Pitam Deurali – Forest Camp – Low Camp – Middle Camp (Badal Danda) – High Camp and ultimately to Mardi Himal Base Camp. Thereafter the trek backtracks and diverges to Siding Village from the Low Camp. Trek to the Mardi Himal can be comfortably completed in a duration of within 4-5 days from Pokhara. As many trekkers in the past have shown interest on extending their journey from their initial course, we too suggest you extend your trek and enjoy every glimpse of your journey.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

After you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport. Our representative will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to the hotel.

Day 2: Sightseeing Kathmandu and Trek Preparation

The next day after breakfast in the hotel, you can visit Swyambhunath Stupa, Bouddhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and other nearby places. You can also buy or rent a trekking bag, boots, sticks, and other essential gear at Thamel.

Day 3: Drive to Pokhara and to Kande and hike to the Australian basecamp(2060m)

After your breakfast at the hotel, a private vehicle will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the Pokhara. The driving hour from Kathmandu to Pokhara is 6 hours, and then you will not stop at Pokhara. You will reach Kande after a 45-minute drive from Pokhara. Then you have to hike for 1 to 2 hours to reach Australian Basecamp. You will stay at the Australian base camp. You can see the view of Mt. Fishtail from here. The place is really very beautiful.

Day 4: Australian Basecamp to Forest camp(2600m)

After having breakfast, you will start your trekking. You can stop at Deurali to have lunch. From deurali to Forest camp, there are no tea houses. You have to take enough water and snacks for the trail. Today, you will be walking through the beautiful Rhododendron forest. You have to trek for 5-6 hours.

Day 5: Forest camp to Low camp(2950m)

After yesterday's long trek, today you will be trekking for 3-4 hours. The views of Mt.Fishtail and Mardi Himal appear closer. Again you have to climb a hill through the Rhododendron forest.

Day 6: Low camp to High camp(3550m)

On the way to High camp from Low camp, there is Badal Danda, from where you can see the best views of clouds covering the villages and forests. You will feel like you are above the clouds along with the mountains. You have to trek for 3-4 hours to reach Highcamp. The hills are mostly covered by fog, but you might have tears of happiness when you see the mountains beside you.

Day 7: Trek to View camp(4300m) and trek back to Shiding(1850m)

Today, you have to wake up very early in the morning. Torchlight is essential today. You hike for 3 to 4 hours to reach the view camp. Many mountain ranges like Mt.Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna first, Annapurna Fang, Mt.Fishtail, and many more. You can see yaks roaming around. While returning from view camp, will only take 1 hour because it's total downhill while returning. You will have enough time to return to Shiding which will take 6 hours. You will be staying overnight at Shiding.

Day 8: Shiding to Pokhara

You can find local buses from Shiding to Lumre till noon but after 12 either you have to reserve a jeep or you have to walk to Lumre for 3 hours, and at Lumre you can find local buses till 5 pm. From Lumre it will take the next 3 hours drive to reach Pokhara. You will be staying overnight at Pokhara.

Day 9: Sightseeing in Pokhara/ Drive back to Kathmandu

On this day you can either visit Pokhara and relax, or you can drive back to Kathmandu. The Kathmandu to Pokhara drive will take 6 hours.

Day 10: Final Departure

Our vehicle will drive you to the Tribhuvan International airport.

This is leveled as a moderate level of trekking in Nepal, despite steeps.
